Pitchdrop Talks – Sally Weintrobe

Pitchdrop were delighted to welcome an online audience to hear a talk from our collaborator Sally Weintrobe – Psychoanalyst and Author. Sally has rigorous insights into the Psychological Roots of the Climate Crisis. This talk, where she is introduced by Dr.Ian Hughes, is a welcome drop of clarity in an ocean of noise. Sally Weintrobe argues that achieving the shift to greater care requires us to stop colluding with Exceptionalism, the rigid psychological mindset largely responsible for the climate crisis. People in this mindset believe that they are entitled to have the lion’s share and that they can ‘rearrange’ reality with magical omnipotent thinking whenever reality limits these felt entitlements.

Pitchdrop consider Sally and Ian to be foundational thinkers to our mission and highly recommend you spend the time listening to this talk and further recommend you read their incredible writings for yourself.
