Mapping paths to more caring futures
The just transition, the green transition, what do these mean? Ultimately it describes the need for a collective shift to more caring futures, for more people, in more places, in more ways. This project sets out to learn from the catalysts, conveners and connectors doing this work in a range of diverse spaces. To better understand and map the challenges, opportunities, ideas, tools and actions involved in the shifts and help us build better pathways.
How do we make change that is more positive for more people in more ways? That’s the question at the heart of this new series that will feature on the Pitchdrop platform.
As one of my favourite adages goes – the future is already here, it’s just unevenly distributed. So in this series, we’ll be convening conversations with people already working at the forefront of change, across a range of different areas.
Through these conversations, we hope to start to build a useful and inspiring picture of what more positive futures could look like, and what’s involved in building them.
Understanding the challenges, shifts, opportunities and tools that are part of working together to usher in more thoughtful, respectful, constructive, inclusive, equitable, sustainable, positive (+) Futures.
Along the way, we’ll gather the insights, inspirations and tools into a set of resources that we hope will empower the next generation of changemakers.
Our first topic is education. It provides us with the building blocks for a better future – to navigate the big challenges facing us as workers, communities and in society, and to do so in a way that works for the many. We’ll ask – What do we need to do to unlock a more evolved future for education?
We’ve got a growing list of topics in the works, and are always interested to hear what you’d be interested in us exploring, so get in touch with any ideas.
The conversations we convene are not in any way deemed to be conclusive. We host 3 people we believe have interesting perspectives, experience and insight that can help us start to understand the direction of travel and help spark further conversations, exploration and investigation.
